Frequently asked questions

Who is the Savvy Shutterbug Hub for?+

The Hub is built for photographers who are still finding their footing — whether you picked up a camera six months ago or six years ago and still feel like something isn't clicking. If you're a hobbyist who wants to shoot with more intention, a beginner trying to understand your camera without the overwhelm, or an early-stage photographer starting to think about working with clients, this is your space. You don't need to be advanced. You just need to be ready to learn.

What's the difference between the Foundations Track and the Photographer Path?+

The Foundations Track is for photographers focused on the craft — light, composition, camera settings, and building real confidence behind the lens. There's no business content here, just the fundamentals done properly. The Photographer Path is for photographers who are ready to go further — growing their skills while also learning how to work with clients, price their work, and build something sustainable. Your mentoring plan determines which track you're in.

Do I need expensive gear or software to get started?+

No. The resources inside the Hub are built around what you already have. Whether you're shooting with an entry-level DSLR, a mirrorless camera, or even a smartphone, the fundamentals apply. Gear doesn't determine progress — understanding does. You'll find guides and tools here that work regardless of what's in your camera bag.

How is this different from just watching YouTube tutorials?+

YouTube is useful, but it's also endless. You can spend an hour watching videos and still not know what to actually practice next or whether you're building skills in the right order. The resources inside the Hub are structured around a real learning progression — built by a photographer with 25 years of experience who knows exactly where beginners get stuck and why. Everything here is intentional. You're not searching for answers. You're working through a system that was designed to get you results without the overwhelm.
